Restore the River: Shell by Shell"
The stretch of the Hudson River between Manhattan and New Jersey, extending from the bay to Washington Heights, holds approximately seven trillion gallons of water. Historically, this area was home to billions of oysters that naturally filtered and purified these waters. This abundance made New York Harbor a thriving symbol of prosperity and plenty to early colonists.
However, after four centuries, this vibrant ecosystem has nearly vanished, leaving little trace of its former natural beauty. Restoring such vast numbers will require time and dedication. Our indoor farming facilities are designed to support this restoration effort, enabling us to scale oyster populations efficiently and with meaningful impact.
